Press Release: New team at Holloway Friendly starts to take shape

Last summer Holloway Friendly appointed Stuart Tragheim as its new CEO.

Stuart's brief is to create a new growth strategy for Holloway Friendly, re-establishing the brand as a leading specialist protection provider in the individual and corporate risks market.

Stuart Tragheim had previously held senior roles in the UK financial services industry including positions at One Family, LV=, Teachers Provident Society and at the Association of British Insurers.

In addition to focusing on the development of the new growth strategy, Stuart has now strengthened the leadership team at Holloway Friendly with the appointment of a number of experienced industry figures.

Holloway Friendly was founded by inspiring and caring people who wanted to do the right thing for our members and their families when they were at their most vulnerable and struggling to cope with the worst of circumstances. The first phase of our recruitment; adding Andy, Phil, Gifford and Harry to our already experienced team, will help us to do more of that once again.”

Andy Milburn joined Holloway Friendly on 3rd January as their new Director of Proposition and Marketing. Andy will be a member of the friendly society's executive committee and board, and will lead the activity to re-establish the Holloway brand and proposition in specialist areas of the UK protection market.

Andy previously held senior roles in the UK financial services industry including positions at Equiniti, Prudential, Close Brothers AM, Ageas, Munich Re, Royal Liver and RSA.

Phil Hull has joined Holloway Friendly as Propositions and Portals Manager. Phil will work closely with Andy and Stuart in developing the friendly society’s current full and short term income protection products and underwriting processes, as well as developing new specialist protection products and processes for the adviser market.

Phil Hull has previously held senior roles in the UK financial services industry including positions at Axa, Sun Life, Nationwide and Sesame. Phil also led a financial services consultancy business which supported various organisations in the UK including NMG and Prudential.

Gifford Clay has joined Holloway Friendly as its National Account Manager and will be responsible for developing both current and new relationships with the UK adviser and EBC community in the specialist protection areas that the society wishes to target.

Gifford has previously held senior roles in the UK financial services industry including positions at Synaptic Software, LV and Aviva.

Harry Blinston has joined Holloway Friendly as its new Sales Operations Manager. Harry will work closely with Gifford and lead the friendly society’s telephone sales and sales support activity for the UK adviser community whilst developing new ways in which the friendly society can support advisers who write specialist protection business.

Harry Blinston has previously held senior roles in the UK financial services industry including positions at The Exeter, Unum, Direct Auto Finance and Barclays. Previous to this he was an adviser, advising in the mortgage market and providing regulated protection advice within multiple estate agency branches.
