Ex PRFS Plans
The Society took over the administration of these income protection plans from the Provident Reliance Friendly Society in 1991. The first three digits of your policy number will indicate to which section your policy belongs.
226 Standard Section
A member under this section has to have been unable to work due to an illness or an accident for a minimum of 2 or more consecutive days before benefit can be paid.
Benefit will be paid back to the first day of incapacity.
Benefit will reduce by half after benefit has been paid for 26 weeks.
Benefit will reduce to a quarter of full pay after benefit has been paid for 52 weeks.
Benefit will continue at this further reduced rate until the member returns to work.
In any event benefit will cease upon retirement or death.
227 Commuted Section
Commuted units carry no entitlement to sickness benefit but guarantee an enhanced allocation of profit
813 D13 Section
A member under this section has to have been unable to work due to an illness or an accident for 13 week before benefit can be paid.
Benefit is payable for a maximum of 26 weeks.
If a member medical claim record reaches the above limit then no further benefit is due.
826 D26 Section
A member under this section has to have been unable to work due to an illness or an accident for 26 week before benefit can be paid.
Benefit is payable for a maximum of 52 weeks in any one period of 4 years.
If a member medical claim record reaches the above limit then no further benefit is due.
827 S26 Section
These polices relate to Ex-PRFS members who were employed by Sealink (UK) Limited.
This contract pays benefit only there is no allocation of profit.
A member under this section has to have been unable to work due to an illness or an accident for 26 week before benefit can be paid.
Benefit is payable for a maximum of 39 weeks in any one period of 4 years.
If a member medical claim record reaches the above limit then no further benefit is due.
